Mammoth Hire Broadcaster, Jacob Johnson

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Mammoth, proud member of the FPHL in their inaugural season announced today that they have hired Jacob Johnson as the team’s new Director of Broadcasting and Public Relations 


Jacob joins the Mammoth after 4 years at SUNY Oswego where he served as the play-by-play announcer for the Oswego State Lakers Men’s Hockey Team. He covered the team this past season as they made it to the SUNYAC Championship game. Johnson also covered Laker sports like soccer, baseball, and lacrosse. Prior to spending his time on the shores of Lake Ontario the Warrensburg, NY native grew up with a passion for sports playing baseball, soccer and wrestling. 


Johnson said “Oswego molded me into the broadcaster that I wanted to be and helped set me up to get to this point in my career. I am very excited to be a part of the Mammoth family. It is going to be a very exciting season to watch this team grow into a championship caliber hockey team.”

The broadcast environment at Oswego is very similar to professional hockey. He brings a lot of enthusiasm with him for this job and will be a strong “voice” of the Mammoth.”


First game for the Elmira Mammoth will take place Friday, October 14th in Binghamton at 7 pm.
